Unity Week
In February 2023, we were approached by the women of the Sakinah community trust to help them with Unity Week 2023.
Unity Week is a campaign aimed at promoting harmony, diversity, and inclusion within Christchurch after the 2019 terror attacks. During Unity Week, various activities and events are organised to bring people from different backgrounds and perspectives together, fostering understanding and tolerance, specifially for the muslim community.
For the campaign we updated their logo and gave Unity Week a new look and feel which included a range of diverse illustrations, and a fresh colour palette. We created a website that was host to a number of digital and print resources, a social media page with information on upcoming events, and pullup banners, posters and flyers for events.
The logo
The first phase of the project was to update the existing Unity week logo. The previous logo, featured a different typeface for each letter representing diversity. The client wanted to keep this feature but modernise the logo. I used a wider range of more modern fonts so there was more obvious differences and more unique typefaces.
